National EMS Memorial Service Honoree

	Eugene Rutledge Washington County Life Saving Crew Abingdon, Virginia

As a dedicated member of the Washington County Life Saving Crew, Eugene was on volunteer duty during the local high school football game. During the event he suffered a heart attack, and another crew member began cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Unfortunately, he did not respond.

Eugene Rutledge died on August 31, 1984, as he stood ready to offer assistance to anyone in need.
