National EMS Memorial Service Honoree

	Terry A. Racicot Midwest MedFlight St. Joseph Mercy Hospital Superior Township, Michigan

Dr. Terry Racicot was an osteopath and emergency medical specialist who contracted her services to St. Joseph Mercy Hospital through Emergency Physicians Medical Group.

She was the doctor aboard the Midwest MedFlight that crashed on December 1, 1994.

Terry and the crew were en route to transport a critical cardiac patient to St. Joseph. Shortly after takeoff, the helicopter suddenly fell to earth. Terry, who was 37, and the other two members of the crew died in the crash.

Before the accident, smoke was seeping from the helicopter's tail, the landing gear was down, and its four rotors were turning slower than usual.

The helicopter had previous maintenance problems but no accidents, and was a backup used because the regular helicopter was being serviced.
