NEMSMS Honoree Tiffany Crowson Miles

Air Evac Lifeteam
West Plains, MO

Tiffany had a life-long goal of becoming a flight nurse. She did everything right to fulfill that goal. "Tiffany was a sweet person and very religious," stated close friend, Jennifer White. "Tiffany always wanted to be a nurse, and she had become a really good one," she stated. Her colleagues all agreed and remember her as kind and gentle. "She was a pleasant person to be in the company of any time," stated a co-worker. "She was one of a kind, the type that should be a flight nurse," another co-worker said.

Tiffany Crowson Miles, 29, of Florence, Alabama, died in the line of duty on December 30, 2007. She was one of a three-person crew dispatched on a search and rescue mission to help locate a lost hunter. The team had located the man, and was hovering over the location when the accident occurred in the Freedom Hills Wildlife Management area.

Tiffany was a flight nurse, employed with Air Evac Lifeteam out of West Plains, Missouri. Mrs. Miles attended the University of North Alabama with a degree in nursing. While in college she served as a dispatcher with AMR, moving on to become a certified Emergency Medical Technician. After becoming a registered nurse, she worked in the emergency room of Helen Keller Hospital. Tiffany fulfilled her dream of becoming a flight nurse, a job she enjoyed for the three years prior to her death.

Mrs. Miles' beloved husband spoke of how she loved to read, loved scrapbooking, and taking pictures. She loved her boys; loved dancing and she loved her family. He stated one day we will "dance together again".
